Frequently asked questions

Is Reverse DNS free?

Yes. Reverse DNS is free and does not need an account.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in your web browser, so it works on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iOS.

What does forward-confirmed mean?

The hostname from the PTR record resolves back to the same IP address. Mail servers and some security checks treat an address without this as suspicious.

Why is there no hostname?

Only the owner of an address block can set PTR records, and many home and mobile addresses have none.
